So... I'm not the most active person on here. Especially regarding journal entries, but as a general thing.
Currently I'm in what is ostensibly my last semester for a master's degree in Zoology. It has been an interesting time in the program, and is somewhat time consuming. Maybe I'll be more active once I finish, it really depends on what happens next.
As far as picture uploads go, I am in the process of setting a page up at www.facebook.com/dwmmphotograp… that will focus on bulk uploads with minimal editing from trips, because Facebook is the easiest method for bulk uploads I've encountered (and automatically shrinks the images to 'web-quality'), and I may take 1,000+ pictures when I spend a day in Yellowstone or the like. It's basically going to feature images I think are worth sharing straight from the camera, because editing is the least enjoyable part of having a camera habit. As an example of what this might mean in terms of images, is straight from the camera.
For those interested in prints, I have some available through
www.redbubble.com/people/dwmmp…
It doesn't make sense to sell through both DA and RB because both have a threshold before money is sent to the seller, and RB got a sale first. At present I have no intention of selling prints of zoo animals, because I don't want to deal with possible legal issues.

Camera stuff
Originally posted this on my FB page ( [link] ), but I figured I would also post it here in case the terminology breakdown would be helpful to anyone.
Because I've lately seen many a post in groups about camera recommendations, here's a bit of a rundown on my gear with a focus on the terminology. Because the marketing departments of camera companies are made of terrible people who will gleefully encourage confusion to sell their product.
Zoom: All of my lenses have "zoom" because they don't have a fixed focal length. Respectively, their zoom factors are 7.777x (18mm-140mm), 2.857x (70mm-200mm), and 2.5x (200mm-500mm). (The one with the mos
Calendars
As we come closer to a new year, I thought I should put a reminder that I do have a few calendars available at https://www.redbubble.com/people/dwmmphotography/collections/245634
Selection currently includes 3 common/northern ravens, 1 *newly added* common/northern raven portraits, California condors, black-billed magpie, and birds in flight.
Things about Camera Specs....
Just thought I would share a few things I have picked up while camera shopping due to wanting to understand what I'm comparing in case it might be helpful to anyone...
35MM EQUIVALENT: Shows up when talking about bodies and Point&Shoot cameras, might also be referred to as "crop factor." This is a result of the sensor size of the camera resulting in a smaller field of view than if using 35mm film (which is still the camera standard for measurement). Says how long a lens would need to be when using a 35mm film camera (or full frame body) for the same field of view.
Example:
Canon Powershot SX60 has a lens length of 3.8-247.0mm (35mm
New Developments
First new development is that I made a Patreon page for anyone interested in that sort of thing: https://www.patreon.com/DWMMPhotography
Any level of support is greatly appreciated as I find myself needing to do things like replace my 10.5 year old laptop with the 32-bit processor that just isn't quite up to handling the demands of modern programs, and keep my car fueled so I can make it out of town to look for a wider variety of critters.
This does mean I may do away with the Canislupuscorax brand and bring everything under the DWMMPhotography one (the double 'M' is not a typo, and is the only thing standing between me and a completely ge

Was wondering what happened to you after a while, and I know where you're coming from on the FB versus DA when it comes to posting. I can post instantaneously and easily through FB so sometimes it takes forever for me to update on here. It makes sharing and getting photos "out there" a lot easier as well so at least it'll help while you're busy to allow your works to get the attention they deserve. Just my two cents...and good luck with your degree, you're almost done ^^
